They'd frequented their fair share of dive bars along the way, making mental notes and tweaking concepts of each bar until they were confident they had what they envisioned for their own. The pair eventually met Greg Pratt, who was catering food for bars and events in Austin, TX. His food was amazing, and Henry, Griffin, and Pratt quickly created a tight bond, a business plan, and followed their dreams.

Their collective vision was one for a BBQ restaurant/beer joint/honky-tonk where friends could gather, hang out, and enjoy good food and great music together. They agreed on creating a bar with a 'backyard feel', • a laid-back vibe where people could relax and enjoy themselves, let the kids run around, and leave when they wanted without the fuss of having to cook or clean. Insert small town, Buda, TX - the ideal community for this concept and one in which has welcomed Willie's with open arms (in fact, according to Buda's city staff, the bar is a great draw for locals as well as tourists). A dream became a reality in 2013 when Willie's Joint, LLC was created and on July 4, 2014, Willie's Joint Bar and BBQ opened its doors!

While we can't take credit for planting them, a large part of our ambiance and laid-back atmosphere are the oak trees. Our venue boasts several on-site - some of which are over 500 years old - and, even one that is said to be the oldest oak tree in Buda, TX! What could be better than sitting outside, under an oak tree, sipping a cold drink, eating BBQ and listening to music surrounded by outdoor activities and a kid-friendly environment? As we strive every day to make Willie's Joint better and better, we always remember to stay laid back.
